Old Meets New: A Living Room Decor Makeover

From early planning and development to the finishing touches, our interior decoration projects are a way of creating a truly one-of-a-kind home for our clients. Each project is different, but the goal is the same: to create a dream space for our clients. We want them to say, ‘this is so us’ every time they step in the door. This is precisely what happened in this living room decor renovation project!

In our latest decoration project in Weston, Florida, we kept the home’s original structure and focused on revitalizing the dated interiors. Using wallcoverings, paint, furniture, lighting, and accessories, our DKORistas transformed each space without altering the foundational elements.

Now, the rooms feel like a true reflection of who our clients are, emphasizing natural light as well as artistry. Using warm accents along with characterful furniture and lighting, we created an ethereal home. This space is for them to enjoy for many years to come.

LIVING ROOM DECOR – DETAILS

Today, we’re revealing the gorgeous living room in this Florida home, where we blended a fresh, contemporary feel into the existing eclectic interior style.

We wanted to expand upon our clients’ tastes through the use of unique materials and statement pieces that will promote cozy living year round. Using a mixture of old and new materials, we’ve achieved a balance that celebrates our clients’ sophisticated, yet eclectic style.

FURNITURE SELECTIONS

Our design team envisioned a serene color palette for the overall mood of the home. They used furniture in shades of beige, white, and olive. We carefully selected statement furniture pieces – each seating option and table has something special to offer that draws the eye. We integrated unique materials, soft fabrics, raw wood, and organic textures to create a peaceful ambiance.

Here are the final photos of this finished living room decor project. One of the biggest challenges we faced was what to do with the existing built-in wood bookshelves, which are very traditional.

To make them feel cohesive with the space, we carefully selected the accessories and accent pieces in the room. We ensured they all worked together!

ACCENT PIECES

We used curved and circular accent pieces to give the room a soft sense of comfort. The coffee table, velvet sofa, rounded rug, and artwork harmonize with one another while the straight lines of the wainscoting and wooden console table provide needed contrast.

Throughout the home, we blended old and new to create a space that is at once grounded in traditional elements but also contemporary with modern materials and colors. Between the bookshelf and stylish basket, there are multiple options for storage. This makes this room highly functional as well as beautiful.

Our designers complemented the dark wood of the bookshelf with the mirror frame, accent table, and dusty rose velvet sofa. By bringing these warm hues into the space, the bookshelf looks right at home.

The long, sheer draperies and cloud-like chairs are like a breath of fresh air in the room. They are accented by luxe gold and marble details. We have no doubt this living room will become a serene space for our clients to relax as well as entertain friends.
