Lobby Interior Design for a Luxury Residential Building

We have previously shared our residential development project, Serena by the Sea on the western coast of Clearwater, FL, on which we work together with Valor Capital. Now, we’re pleased to say that this incredible luxury building has been completed, and we are excited to share the final look of the spaces we designed for it. First up, let’s check out the lobby interior design. Ready?

AIRY LOBBY INTERIOR DESIGN

In order to fully appreciate the amazing first impression made by this spectacular Serena by the Sea lobby, let’s dive into the details of this lobby design. We wanted it to feel modern, fresh, and welcoming. The final result is a mix of light, airy decor, feminine touches, and pure elegance.

While creating the lobby design, our goal was for it to be unique and to show off the project’s concept. At the same time, we made sure the space stayed bright and welcoming with plenty of natural light and a pleasant breeze.

For that reason we incorporated bespoke elements, such as a flowing organic fabric ceiling.

CEILING FEATURE

In keeping with the concept of the Serena Residences building, which embodies a place where the sunset and the sea guide your heart, the feeling of calmness and organic elements were our inspiration.

This is how the idea for the organic fabric ceiling feature came to life during the design process, becoming one of the main elements that catches your eye upon entering space!

HOW WE MADE IT HAPPEN

Turning our lobby design idea into reality was challenging because it was a unique design, and not all the vendors understood the different elements to be considered in order to make it happen.

After researching and meeting with different suppliers, we finally found the right one. When putting the design for this residential building lobby into action, we had to change the ceiling pattern to fit in with architectural elements such as sprinklers and lighting.

There were many details to think about, like making sure the fabric panels had the right amount of space between them as required by code.

Our goal was for this high-end residential building lobby to have movement evoking the ocean’s waves. When selecting the fabric, we needed to consider its weight. Every time the automatic doors in the lobby open, the breeze creates an airflow. Since the lobby has a double-height ceiling, the panels needed to look proportional to the scale of the space. Creating the pattern to achieve a beautiful rhythm was a fun challenge!

LOBBY DESIGN RECEPTION DESK

Four floor-to-ceiling screen panels with linear and hexagonal pattern details, along with LED accents, stand out as a striking backdrop in the desk area of this residential building lobby.

In the photo, you can see that two of the panels are carefully placed in a balanced way, decorating each side of the desk to create an attractive look.

The backdrop of the desk is a wall enhanced with delicate wallpaper, seamlessly blending all the elements together. When considering the details of the desk itself, we decided to create an elevated and warm look.

The wood-slatted reception desk features brass touches, an elegant combination that creates a beautiful contrast, reminiscent of the reflection of the sunset.

SEATING AREAS – LOBBY INTERIOR DESIGN

In this lobby interior design, it was important to include welcoming seating areas for guests and residents. For instance, to keep the design cohesive, we incorporated two large shelving units with LED lighting detail that echo the patterns of the screen located in front. When designing these bookcases, the perfect scale and dimensions of the detail were key.

And because a shelving unit is not complete without accessories, decor selection also played an important role in this residential lobby project. For the accessory choices, our mantra was, “Go big or go home.”

The intention was to keep it clean while introducing large-scale accessories to translate our concept, with neutral textures creating a pleasing contrast with the bookcase and the wallcovering in the background.

We also incorporated into the lobby design picture frames displaying images of the Serena concept — sunsets, ocean landscapes, and more — allowing users to immerse themselves in the experience from the moment they step into the building.

This approach was also reflected in our furniture selections, featuring area rugs and decorative pillows in unique shapes and with pops of color. Subtle patterns of the ocean and sand were represented in the round area rugs.

To complete the look, we added greenery, including an outdoor feeling into the interior. This was also a challenge because the faux greenery selection needed to be well-done; otherwise, the overall look would not come across as elegant.

By finding the perfect planters, we were able to create clusters of greenery, using the scale and selection of the plants as crucial parts of the process.

CONNECTION TO SOCIAL ROOM

Framing the door that leads to the social room (a space that we will talk about in our next post) in this lobby are two big screens. These screens mirror the design in the same way we did at the lobby desk wall. Furthermore, to complete the look, eight wood panels cover the entire wall between these two screens, creating a beautiful visual impact.

We love to make not only lobbies but also any kind of commercial spaces look great. As has been noted, we design all sorts of places to make them special and inviting. Next, we’ll talk more about the social room. We’re excited to show you more about what we do and the places we create.
