Revealing the Interiors of a Stylish Florida Keys Home
Inspired by a tropical tree house, this chic Florida Keys home is a labor of love. We worked with our clients to ensure their Big Pine Key vacation home design was centered around family connection and togetherness. Therefore, an open layout of rooms that easily flow into one another, decor that celebrates family memories, and big spaces that keep the whole family together were necessary.
While the construction is happening, we are so excited to take you on a virtual tour of this in-progress Florida Keys home remodel.

THE STAIRS
As the dividing feature of the ground floor, we knew the stairs would inevitably become a focal point. The client wanted the staircase to be as light and airy as possible to make the space feel bigger and connect the kitchen and living room.
In an ideal world, underneath the staircase would’ve been completely open. But, when we discovered an existing column, we changed our plans and turned the wall into a family-oriented design feature: a memory wall.
To attain the breezy and connected feeling our clients desired, we paired open railings and treads with light-hued materials. The result is a staircase that feels light, airy, and also ensures the space is connected.
THE LIVING ROOM
The living room had to accommodate large family gatherings, especially for important holidays. Comfy, oversized furniture—a sectional sofa and plush armchairs—ensures there’s a seat for everyone, while plenty of throws and pillows invite them to sit and stay a while.
We created two separate seating areas that still feel seamlessly connected and integrated. The same modern, neutral color palette and light wood touches make up the two spaces. The only visual separation is subtle: two different area rugs define the seating areas.
THE LIVING ROOM BAR
Keeping the party together is even easier when you have a wet bar right in the dining room.
Our client fell in love with the blue tile used to create a chic herringbone pattern on the bar’s backsplash. In addition to the tile—which you’ll also find in the kitchen—the blue barstools bring in the ocean hues and create cohesion between the living room and kitchen.
Speaking of those barstools, their woven design mimics the woven back of the armchairs in the living room; a subtle yet important connection. Brass cabinet handles warm up this corner and nod to the warm wood tones found throughout the home.
We’re so excited to share these spaces with you, as we are loving working on the remodel of this Florida Keys home. Soon we’ll be able to reveal even more, so stick around!
