We’re Loving these 3 Adorable Kids’ Rooms
We never forget about the littlest residents in our home makeovers. We love creating the childhood dream rooms we never got to design ourselves, so oftentimes, kids’ rooms are the most fun to work on. I mean gold polka dot wallpaper and pink rocking chairs in a grownup room would be hard to pull off—but in a nursery they’re oh-so-sweet!
Last week we revealed the swoon-worthy transformation of the common spaces and master suite in our Coral Gables contemporary oasis project, but today, we get to show you three adorable rooms for the kiddos in the fam.
Nursery
This nursery is sweet as pie, all the way from the fringed carpet up to the feathery pendant. The nursery keeps the same color scheme as the rest of the house, but we added warmth with texture—spot the flokati pillow and cushy blankets—and creamy hues.
Something to always keep in mind when designing rooms for kids: how will they use the space in one, two, five years? We ensured the nursery would grow with the family’s littlest member in a couple of ways. The biggest is that the wall decals are removable and the wall color is an easy-to-decorate-with neutral. It’s okay if you missed the second; it’s pretty subtle. The changing table is actually a desk, which will come in handy when she hits school age.

Girl’s Bedroom
This little girl’s room is fit for a princess! Cute multicolored bedding sets the tone, but the theme soars over the top with the addition of a diaphanous canopy and a Lucite Eiffel Tower lamp.
You might notice we’ve added rugs to these adorable kids’ rooms. We did this because we kept tile throughout the home, but since little ones are always on the ground playing, we wanted to give them a soft spot to land. We suggest indoor/outdoor rugs in kids’ room, as they can be stain resistant and are easy to clean.
Boy’s Bedroom
We stuck with a minimalist vibe and maintained the home’s blue, gray, and white color scheme in the boy’s sporty room.
We made sure the room had lots of parent-approved features: The gray bedding can stay for years, even if his favorite sport or favorite color changes. Lots of storage means there’s no reason for toys and games to be lying all over the floor. And, finally, the desk space is big enough for him to accomplish everything from homework to projects.
