As part of our renovation of this Earthy Modern home, we had a fun challenge:…
Follow the progress of our latest design project abroad and see what it takes to become a Top Interior Design Firm
Never in a million years did I think that we’d be working on projects around the world. It’s been a few years since DKOR has left their mark outside of South Florida. With an interior design project in Mexico starting soon, another one wrapping up soon in Winnipeg, Canada and a newly acquired mountain side modern home in Haiti, DKOR is going abroad and taking over the international interior design world!
I know… its sounds glamorous to be working around the world but it comes with its own set of challenges. Its challenging enough to succesfully turnover an interior design project locally, let alone one in another country. The biggest one being the extension of our culture not only to an extended team, but an extended team in another country. To overcome this challenge, we spend lots of time understanding the local effective ways of communcation. Lets face it, some people don’t like to talk on the phone, some prefer emails, some work effectively off their phone and on “whatsup” and other free international texting apps. The biggest advice I can give you is to be adaptable and open minded. Learn what they work well with and run with it!
This is the second time working with our clients in Haiti. Having completed the interior design and home renovation of their beach side escape, we are now moving north to transform their mountain side home from the ground up! Take a look at the photos below as we are on currently on site in Haiti to project manage. Make sure to check back for updates!
