Inspiration Behind a Contemporary Oceanfront Retreat
Let the home tour begin! Today we’re kicking off a new home tour and this time we’re working on a jaw-dropping oceanfront home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This new construction project is a multi-level residence that is nothing shy of breathtaking. The oceanfront property serves as a perfect beachfront getaway for our bachelor client and his guests.
With over 10,000 square feet, 5 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms, the luxury residence boasts several lounging living spaces throughout to kick-back and enjoy the view. This is sure to be one of our DKOR Favorites and we can’t wait to get you up to speed with what’s been going on during the past few months. So let’s get under way!
Contemporary Oceanfront Retreat – Design Concept
As you’ve experienced with all of our residential projects, we begin with a design concept. The larger the interior design project, the more we need a sound concept to help us to maintain cohesiveness and purpose in every decision we make.
Months ago we were inspired by the simplistic concrete square structure that we were handed, so simple yet impactful at the same time. Influenced by the simplistic approach of the famous artist and founder of the De Stijl movement, Piet Mondrian, we developed a warm contemporary design for this Contemporary Oceanfront Retreat.
We’re having lots of fun collaborating on the build out of this contemporary oasis with the local super-star builders, Bomar Builders, renowned for their expertise building high-end luxury residences all around Florida.
During our first meeting, it was our priority to share with them and the rest of the extended team members the inspiration behind our design. We made known in detail how the De Stijl movement influences our design work. When collaborating on a new construction home it’s so important for us that builders have a general understanding of the design inspiration. This helps them to realize the purpose of every interior detail we are proposing and definitely helps the team to work better together.
