Our Latest Creative Playroom Ideas to Spark Imagination

A playroom is more than just a fun space to store toys and games. It’s the place in a home where kids can be themselves and let their imaginations soar. With all of our playroom ideas, we strive to create a space that is both functional as well as conducive to creativity and learning. With mood-boosting colors, soft and inviting furniture, and statement elements, these darling kids’ play spaces have come to life in the hands of our team of designers.

Playroom with Desk Areas

This bright and beautiful playroom was a joy to create for our clients, a loving family based in Miami. We chose to color block with complementary hues of blue and yellow, creating a bold contrast that instantly lifts the mood in the room. The highlight of this playroom is the dedicated study area and reading nook. You’ll also find clever storage solutions that make putting away toys, games, and reading materials a breeze. As for the bespoke flooring, we wanted it to meet both form and functionality goals, so we used patterned FLOR tiles. This flooring is one of the best playroom ideas if your kids enjoy crawling around or prone to messes – and what kids aren’t? The rug tiles are soft for kids, easy for parents to clean, and stylish!

A Garage into An Amazing Playroom

When our clients approached us about transforming their unused garage space into a play/workspace, we were thrilled at the prospect. In keeping with the rest of their earthy, modern home, the design concept is minimalist and sleek. We added laminated wood floors to warm up the concrete that was previously showing in the garage. Additionally, the wood and brick wallpaper creates an attractive trompe l’oeil. As there aren’t any windows in this garage, we recognized the importance of putting in natural elements like potted plants and a vertical garden to bring some life and energy into the space. Finally, the built-in shelves create a focal wall which we’ve filled with pops of color.

Family Room Meets Playroom

This airy playroom is part of a design project we completed in a 4,000 square foot oceanfront condo in the luxurious high-rise Auberge Beach Residences. The room is designed to be the pinnacle of coastal sophistication, while still functioning as a playroom where kids can have fun. To achieve this balance, we worked with a foundation of clean lines and added in statement accents like the floor poufs and plush scalloped-edge rug. The built-in carpentry ties together all the elements in the room and adds extra storage for craft materials, books, and toys. It’s a dreamy oasis for both mom and kids.

Playroom with Playhouse

Sometimes, we get a truly magical request, like this playhouse within a playroom for six kids. This is one of our favorite playroom ideas because it makes a big statement with a unique addition. In the main part of the room, we used principles of color theory, stripes, and acrylic shelves to create a fanciful space to play, relax, and learn. We constructed the playhouse with a window box filled with plants so that whether you’re inside or out, you can appreciate the creativity of this unique space. Inside the playhouse, you’ll find wallpaper that looks like a woodland as well as toys and seating. Don’t forget to look up – the navy ceiling is dotted with stars to remind the children to dream big.
