As interior designers, we understand that trends come and go, especially fashion trends. Another thing…
Hello DKORistas! We’ve been doing a lot of furniture shopping in the past several weeks, at the Miami Design District, as we inch closer to the big reveal moment on a couple of exciting projects. But before we hit our favorite furniture stores, there’s a bunch of prep work we have to do.
First comes the design development, where we create a theme and aesthetic for the project. Then we can begin to pick out furniture and lighting options to present to our clients. Sometimes the clients sign off right away, and other times it’s more of a back-and-forth process. But that just means more time spent scouring stores and sites for the right pieces—not a bad day at the office.

Right now, we’re currently in the furniture selection phase on a couple of projects that will be completed by the end of the year (yay): a contemporary oceanfront dream home and an eclectic Bal Harbour condo.
While we love to shop online, there’s nothing quite like seeing, touching, and sitting on furniture in real life. No one wants to sit a beautiful chair every day if it’s harder than a rock, right?! One of our favorite spots to find amazing furniture and accessories for our interior design projects is the Miami Design District. There we find top design brands showrooms including the high end furniture Italian brands we love to work with. If you’re venturing out there, be sure to stop by our three favorites furniture showrooms:
Miami Design District Furniture Showrooms
Minotti is one of our favorites! Their Miami showroom is always a nice stop for our interior design team. In each visit, we are able to see not only their unique pieces but also get inspired with the furniture layouts they have. It’s always awe-inspiring to visit their showroom!
One of our favorite resources for modern lighting and Italian furniture is Luminaire Lab! From pendants to floor lamps, they carry so many beautiful options in different materials.
Poliform is another Italian brand that we love! If you are looking for high end and luxury furniture pieces, be sure to stop at their showroom. All you find at Poliform has the “Made in Italy” quality. It’s not just furniture; you will love their Kitchen collections and the variety of finishes and materials they offer!
