WORKING WITH OUR TALENTED INTERIOR DESIGN FIRM

When you work with DKOR Interiors, the first thing we do is learn about your needs and lifestyle at a discovery meeting. We then use that information to design a functional and comfortable home that is visually stunning and thoughtfully represents you and your family’s personality and lifestyle.

If you need an interior design firm to decorate, renovate or build your dream home, we can help you! Here are the different interior design services that we offer.

We will not only turn your vision into reality, we will also create a plan of action, complete with material selections, schedule and budget.

GETTING READY FOR OUR FIRST CHAT

The goal of our first conversation is to get to know you. We want to hear about you, your needs and goals. You will tell us everything about what you envision for your home project, and we will explain to you how we can make it happen. What we learn will help us develop a preliminary design fee estimate for your project. It is very important that you have a clear understanding of the approximate cost of the project before starting the process.

Here is the information that you should have in hand to make the most of our initial call.

NEEDS / SCOPE OF WORK

We will begin by reviewing the goal of your project, including what you want to achieve with this interior design project and what your vision is. We understand this can change, but this is a great starting point.

Do you want us to work only on specific spaces or the entire home? Do you want us to design or renovate any bathrooms and/or kitchen? Will you be changing any flooring? Do you want customized built-ins or are you happy with store-bought pieces? These are the types of questions we will ask so we can understand your needs and the overall scope of work, allowing us to suggest the best solutions for it.

GET YOUR QUESTIONS READY

The purpose of this initial call is not only for us to get to know you, but also for you to learn more about us and the way we work. We are available to answer all the questions you may have at our first chat. Have ready a list of concerns, things you might like to clarify, or information you would like to know about us.

FLOOR PLAN / PHOTOS (IF AVAILABLE)

If you have them, make sure you provide us with the floor plans of your home. This will help us visualize and get a general idea of the size and scope of your project.

If the floor plan is not available, photos showing existing conditions can be used instead. But if you decide to work with us, hire us, you will need to have the as-built plans in order for us to start designing. If this is a new construction project and floor plans are not ready yet, no worries – we will work with your architecture team from the start.

MOOD BOARD / INSPIRATION

Starting your dream home project is an exciting moment! We can imagine all the ideas you have ready to review with us. You might have already collected magazine clippings, picked out your favorite projects from our design portfolio, or pinned your favorite home decorations on Pinterest or Instagram.

Sharing your ideas or mood boards with us will help us understand your overall vision for your home, as well as your style, lifestyle and needs. Remember that the inspiration for every project always comes from the client!

TIMELINES AND BUDGET EXPECTATIONS

Don’t worry if you don’t have a number in mind yet. We are happy to guide you. However, it is very helpful to have a clear idea of your expectations in terms of timeline and budget. We will advise and guide you to make sure they are realistic and that they align with the scope of the project.

We might ask you if you have a specific furniture brand that you like and we’ll use it as a reference for price point and style when working on your preliminary project budget.

Although it is not necessary to have all the information listed above, the more details we have to review, the better. This will allow us to prepare an accurate interior design proposal for you and start your design process smoothly.

DKOR, your favorite Florida interior design firm, is ready to help you create your dream space.
