Before diving into the design of this amazing playroom, allow us to refresh your memory of the home itself: This colorful Bal Harbour abode is anything but basic. Nearly every color in the rainbow has a spot in the home, as we’ve used color theory to define the mood of each space, and bold wallpapers adorn the walls.
The matriarch of this family of six wanted her home to stand out, and to be a place where her kids’ imaginations could run wild. We couldn’t have been more excited to help her achieve this goal. Now, with all of that background, you’re ready to see the kids’ playroom.
Striped wallpaper highlights a gallery wall of kids’ artwork, while an inspirational quote reminds the kids to keep dreaming. On the other wall, acrylic shelves put keepsakes, kids’ creations, and arts supplies on display. A kiddo-sized table and chair set is the perfect spot for little ones to create their next masterpieces. The tile floor is easy to clean, so they can get as creative as Jackson Pollack and the room won’t take a beating.
The showstopper of the space is the child-sized playhouse, complete with a window box of flowers. Look up and you’ll see a starry night sky and the “view” through the window is a forest, thanks to a creative use of wallpaper.
A gray finish on the house ties it to the rest of the space, so it doesn’t stand out, but instead enhances the kids’ playtime.
This Dream kids’ playroom celebrates kids being kids, which is exactly what our client wanted. We can’t wait to complete this room where the kids will create some magic. Stay tuned for the final photos!
