As part of our renovation of this Earthy Modern home, we had a fun challenge:…
Project Name: The All American Dream
DKOR Interiors, one of the leading designers in South Florida, is embarking on another exciting project for one of South Florida’s most prominent plastic surgeons and his wife, a successful art dealer in her own right, in Aventura, Florida. With one son in his first year in College and another one soon on his way, they are anxious to renovate their “decorator ready” 5,000 sq. ft. penthouse.
As you have all grasped by now, we first begin with our concept presentation which we are now sharing with you. This concept was inspired by a Ralph Lauren fashion show which captured our clients stylish ways, traditional sensibility and yearning for something fresh and contemporary. Notice the way the textures and patterns in the collection begin to relate to the materiality throughout the presentation.
We have also included in this blog our proposed flooring layout. We thought this would be interesting for our readers because so many times we walk into a homes where thousands of dollars were invested into the cost of the actual floor and its installation but yet NO thought process behind its layout. In this flooring presentation we have proposed to use a Duchateau wide plank, distressed, wood flooring on the 1st floor. But wait!, it gets better… Our installation design is to do a chevron pattern in the general area with a wide plain border throughout. When you see the scale of it on the flooring layout slide, you can imagine how in person it adds just the right amount of drama in each room. On the second floor we suggested installing a white glass tile with the inverted layout; pattern in the perimeter and straight lay in the general area.
Lastly, notice the last slide where we show some bathroom material teasers.
