Who doesn’t love good breakfast nook ideas? It’s often forgotten when we talk about kitchens!…
For over a decade DKOR Interiors has been designing homes to promote happiness and well being through the use of interior design. This year it was all about US! and designing a design studio that promotes creativity, collaboration and well being; a space that represents our culture. As an interior design firm, we made sure to consider every detail while designing our new DKOR studio to bring our team a comfortable place to work in while promoting a good work / life balance. (BTW, We can’t wait to give you a tour of our studio in a future blog post).
It’s been a few months since we moved into our new studio; 5 months to be exact. We’re beginning to feel settled into our new studio and we wanted to add a personal touch to each of our work spaces that represented our lives at home.
Being top interior designers isn’t an easy task and takes consistent creativity and willingness to venture off into new concepts that are bound to trigger lots of research and trouble shooting = problem solving. This is why keeping the moral high and our design team happy is a MUST.
We did a little research and found that there are endless studies that show how personification of your work space promotes happiness and happiness increases productivity and willingness to work through those tough days. These studies also unveiled the importance of incorporating personal photos in you work life and how it makes you more productive and happier.
In order to encourage our fellow team members to really personify their desk area we provided each member with a blank corkboard and held a contest for best display.
Each team member created and customized their own personal boards with the things that keep them inspired in life and work through photos, graphics or even materials that had special meaning to them. Once they were all finished, we presented them to each other and shared the meaning behind each one of them.
These boards really help each of our team members visualize what they love and are a beautiful way to add meaning to our workspace, cheering us up in the not-so-happy or stressful moments. Giving a look to the things you love like family and friends is quite motivational and reminds you of why you do your job while reminding you to have a great attitude each day, give your best at work and share positive mood in and out of our studio.
We enjoyed looking at all our top interior designers personal photos because we care about each other, we are family and like to know what inspire us and keeps us motivated. Take a look at the personal touches that are inspiring us at DKOR Interiors and don’t forget that happiness can be found in the little things. Make your days shine!
