A Guide to Some of Our Favorite Miami Design District Furniture Showrooms

We love nothing more than creating dream homes for our clients. That is why the Miami Design District furniture showrooms are one of our favorite venues for shopping for furniture and décor. Spanning 18 square blocks, this sophisticated and international hub of creativity. It has it all: interior design and architecture, fashion, art, and fine dining. While its luxury flagship boutiques such as Gucci and Prada may be the initial draw for visitors, its concentration of high-end furniture showrooms, all within walking distance, makes the Miami Design District the go-to destination of Miami interior designers in the know.

Why We Shop at the Miami Design District Furniture Showrooms

We take pride in creating luxurious and innovative homes. Understanding that every project has its own specific needs, each home we create starts with a personalized concept. We carefully choose every item, from interior finishes and fixtures to furniture, lighting, art, and accessories. Each piece is a critical element in creating the look and feel we want to achieve. Because details such as comfort, dimensions, materials, and functionality are so important to experience firsthand, visiting vendors’ showrooms is an absolute must to understand the full scope of the selections we make for our clients.

Each time we visit the Miami Design District, we learn more about our vendors, make new discoveries, and strengthen our relationship with the external teams we work with. We started the new year with one of our tours to see new collections and explore how to work with the showrooms to ensure successful communication between our teams. This was the first of many such tours. Keep an eye out for more hot tips as we will continue to visit every showroom on our A-list throughout the year.

Here is a review of our first round of visits to the Miami Design District furniture showrooms, and what we liked most about each one.

OUR FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT OUR FIRST TOUR OF THE NEW YEAR

MEETING THE PEOPLE ON OUR EXTERNAL TEAMS

First of all, we finally got to meet in person with the vendors! After so much contact with them via emails and phone calls. This reinforces our relationship with them to help us select the perfect pieces for our clients. Also, the tour was a wonderful opportunity to introduce our newest DKOR team members to the outstanding professionals and sales team behind each brand.

SEEING AND FEELING THE PIECES IN REAL LIFE

Thanks to advances in technology, there’s a lot we can learn about each product we specify online. Therefore, technology makes our selection process easier. But nothing replaces experiencing them in person. For example, we get to see all the details. The design team saw the finishes and assembly of each piece, and get a real sense of how they felt. This is something very helpful when making final selections.

DISCOVERING CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS

The ability to customize furniture and accessories is key to our success. Customization helps us create unique interiors for each individual project. Discussing the available capabilities with the showroom team gave us an in-depth understanding of the endless possibilities for our clients.

LEARNING ABOUT PRICING

Defining a budget is an important step in our interior design process. As designers, it is imperative to know the price range of the options we are presenting. Hence,  the meetings with the staff helped our team learn more about the whys and wherefores of the price structure.

Stay tuned, more design tours are coming soon! Sharing design inspiration is another of our passions so we hope you find this information interesting and worth knowing.
