We love sharing with our followers what goes on behind the scenes in the design studio, and we have come a long way, see past renovations of our interior design studio on our blog HERE. Every space was specifically designed and planned to suit our needs.

Organization is the key to our success in these creative spaces, allowing us to get lots of tasks accomplished within a productive environment that boosts our creativity.

During our client presentations we offer several options in materials, which leads us to constantly requesting samples in a variety of colors, textures, or patterns before choosing the final selections for our interior design projects. When these options make their way into our design library it is important to keep them organized to reference back to or find another project better suited for them.

The DKOR design studio library is well organized by clearly displayed colors and categories that make it easy to find any material you may be looking for.  Below we share organizing tips for interior designers or creative professionals that work with a lot of material samples.

TIPS WHEN ORGANIZING A SAMPLE’S LIBRARY FROM INTERIOR DESIGNERS

We work to maintain an interior design studio that makes our interior designers happy. We revamped our studio’s tile library to achieve a resourceful location for our designers to use during design sessions and client presentations.  We accomplished that by:

  1. Grouping together all samples from the same vendor and verified that they were current products still available or in stock.

  2. Blue painter’s tape was used to label each piece with the vendor name for easy reference when shopping for a price point or particular style.

  3. Categorized all samples by different materials like wood, concrete, marble, etc.

We appreciate our design space and take care of it as a team. Follow our organization tips to create a workspace your team will love to come into work every day.
