After many years as Miami interior designers, we’ve been working with a lot of clients and projects and we know every project has its own different and unique journey. When dealing with a limited budget, you need to find affordable pieces and make the most of them using great interior design inspiration. The first resource that comes to mind whenever we’re in a bind for time or budget is IKEA, and we’re going to show you a few examples of how we’ve used this “in-stock” and inexpensive resource to creatively convert basic pieces into practical customized furniture. With ingenuity and great ideas you can transform IKEA classics into amazing furniture pieces.

DKOR Interior Design

Miami interior designers are recognized around the world for their creativity and design aesthetics. We’re a melting pot of cultures and you can experience it just by walking through any of the many local attractions such as Wynwood, the Design District and South Beach. In the design world, creativity really shows through when we’re presented with limitations. In interior design, these limitations can be anything from space planing to not finding the perfect piece available within the project timeline. We’re in a world of innovation where troubleshooting needs to be part of our DNA but let’s not forget of course a very common problem… BUDGET!!

Sure we can create beautiful spaces in an ideal world of limitless budgets, time and space, but its the challenges that each project brings us that really give us an opportunity to shine.

We decided to put together a collection of our favorite IKEA hacks from our interior design projects. With this post we’re starting a new interior design blog series that we know all of our DKORistas are sure to love!
