Three Top Lighting Trends 2023 from Euroluce

The calm after the biggest design show of the year has arrived. After an exciting and super-busy week in Milan, where design professionals and enthusiasts got together for this year’s Salone del Mobile at Rho Fiera, our designers are ready to share the lighting trends 2023 they spotted at Milan design week’s events and installations.

As we shared in our previous post, this year’s installations included one of our favorites, Euroluce, whose theme was “The City of Lights”. It was very exciting for us to tour this lighting fair, because as designers, lighting is one of the main elements we use to create the right mood and ambiance in our interior designs.

With close to 500 international and local exhibitors, the show didn’t disappoint! We wish we had the time to stop in every booth because there was something innovative and amazing to see in each one.

However, we discovered that the new products and technologies that caught our attention had some things in common that we anticipate will be shaping the top lighting trends 2023. Here are the three favorite lighting design trends we discover at Euroluce. We can’t wait to incorporate them into our interior design projects!

UNIQUE SHAPES

We loved to see fixtures with unusual and artful shapes everywhere! Lighting vendors are offering solutions that check the box for both functionality and innovation. We made note of an abundance of eye-catching lighting that serves as a decorative object, making a creative and artistic statement even when the light is turned off. Art and function were beautifully mixed at Euroluce 2023.

We noticed different shapes, materials and colors in the lighting fixtures we saw. Some pieces mixed all three components. Here are some examples of this trend of unique and unexpected forms in lighting design.

TEXTURED GLASS

We loved seeing how lighting designers are taking advantage of the natural versatility of glass by creating stunning fixtures. While the use of glass in accent lighting is nothing new, the addition of artistic textured details is something that is gaining popularity, as we confirmed at Euroluce 2023.

The embossed textures and patterns help reflect the light beautifully. Textured glass not only adds character but also creates a look that is both unique and elegant. From delicate ribbing to gentle patterns, check out why this trend is so inspiring.

MIX OF COLORS

Another lighting trend we noticed while visiting the various displays was lighting installations using the same fixture, but in different colors, shapes and sizes.

Lighting brands are encouraging designers to use the latest products and their variants together, taking advantage of the variety of colors that they are offering while creating interesting clusters.
