Interior Designer Décor Picks
Ready for this month’s round-up of our designer decor picks from our favorite furniture and home decor stores. Margaret Smith , our Interior Design Creative Director, includes fantastic and affordable stuff in her product selection this month.
Margaret’s fun selections reflect her love for outdoors, greenery, and the little details that absolutely make a difference! Her cool selections of home décor accessories lively combinations that are perfect for your indoor and outdoor spaces.
A few accent pieces from our designer favorite finds can inject your interiors with that fresh touch.
Here are Margaret’s tips and favorite finds to get that updated style:
Bone white and black is my new favorite combination! The BLACK GLOBAL OBLONG THROW PILLOW from Threshold is a more casual take on the classic ‘black and white’ color combination. Fun fringe gives off an earthy and well-traveled vibe as if it was just scooped up at an Indian market.
Lanterns are must in my book when creating an outdoor mood. I love how these Target Outdoor Wood Lanterns are an effortless combination of rustic and modern styles. Use the lanterns with a battery powered candle to give your outdoor space a worry free candle-lit mood!
Scented candles are a perfect touch to add to your home’s mood. Find scents that you truly love and that resonate with your feeling of home and relaxation. When choosing candles, I first start with the packaging and then decide on the scent like my favorite Glass Jar Candle from Smith & Hawken in Moss & Thyme. Visually the candle has got to go with the home décor too!
It’s tricky to create a curated feel with outdoor seating areas. Accent pieces like the Coronado Stacking Lounge Chair and Saephan Side Table by Bungalow Rose can add some style and uniqueness to the look. I’m digging this combination of side chair and table!
Floor lamps add instant mood lighting to a space. We love the Brogan Task Lamp that feels more like a sculptural focal point. Statement pieces like this one can add interest to a boring corner space.
Dining chairs are conversation pieces around your dining space! Make them interesting. Classic design styles with a twist like the Mustang Side Chair by Wade Logan is one of my current favorite finds!
Greenery brings the outdoors in and livens up any space. Don’t have a green thumb? Sessoms Succulent Garden by Varick Gallery is great faux succulents in a small scale that add just a touch of greenery.
I’ve been eyeing the Cirque Pendant Light. For someone who doesn’t typically do color that says something! It’s a classic shape that has a variety of color selections and combinations that are all timeless and elegant!
