Our Golden Beach Design Project Is Featured in Luxe Magazine Miami

We absolutely love handing our clients the keys to their dream homes. When that same home is featured in an interior design magazine we read and respect, well, that’s just the cherry on top! That’s exactly what happened with our nature-inspired Golden Beach design project that’s currently featured in Luxe Interiors + Design Magazine September/October Miami issue.

We’re so proud to have this Golden Beach project showcased in an article titled “Creative Nature,” written by Jennifer Sergent and photographed by the amazingly talented Kris Tamburello.

This Golden Beach, Florida home was a collaboration with SDH Studio’s Stephanie Halfen, the lead architect, and our principal, Ivonne Ronderos. Together we designed a refreshing, lively aesthetic and atmosphere for a South American family.

Golden Beach Design Concept

Our design concept, driven by an interactive connection to nature, pushed our designers outside of their boundaries. The family wanted their family home filled with art, fun details, bold color, and playful spaces. But, we have to say that the most critical thing we kept in mind as we designed each room, the main living areas and kids’ bedrooms in particular, in this 6,000-square-foot Golden Beach home was that our design was meant to encourage interaction between family members.

You can see in the living room above that the modular sofas, which are placed directly across from each other to make conversation easy, are topped with many comfy pillows, which make lounging for a while oh-so-easy.

The design teams created a connection to nature in this waterfront abode by filling it with greenery and natural wood. Nowhere is that connection more evident than on the staircase, where stunning warm wood dominates from floor to ceiling. Open shelving filled with trinkets, art, and live plants, draws the eye up so you don’t miss a thing.

Everything had to have a connection with the structure of the house.” — Ivonne Ronderos

But nature isn’t just about wood and plants, it’s about color and liveliness. Like the 10-foot-tall yellow front door. Talk about a statement, right?! We love it.

We can find bold, colorful art throughout the home, but it really packs a punch in the dining room. Molded wood chairs built for comfort and a large dining table ensure that everyone can linger after a delicious dinner. But it’s the modern art on parallel walls that really grabs the eye. The large yellow and green piece mimics the color blocking our interior design team used throughout the home, especially in the kids’ bedrooms.

Halfen, working with designer Ivonne Ronderos, created a home that blurs the division between indoor and out, celebrates bold color, and offers space for the wife, who is an artist, her husband and their two daughters to exercise their creativity.” – Jennifer Sergent.

A big shout out to SDH Studio’s architects for this amazing residential project. We loved to collaborate in the interior design of this home with this talented team!
