Dining rooms are one of the most lived-in spaces in our home. A functional dining…
If you haven’t noticed… a few weeks ago we took off to Bologna, Italy to attend the Cersaie 2015 event which was pretty exciting and we wanted to share with you another one of the perks from our trip.
After a long first day at fair, the delegation took us to Palazzo Ducale di Sassuolo for the 2015 Cersaie Journalism award. The setting at this venue was so gorgeous that it made the cold almost bearable.
We were spoiled by the city locals whom provided all of us guests with a tour of the castle followed by the awards ceremony.
Confundustria de Ceramica gave a very impressive press release during the ceremony and shared with us the increase in sales and exportation of ceramics throughout the country during the year of 2015.
The Confundustrias promotional strategies supported by the national business council has been proving successful. Italian manufacturers have also invested over 300 million dollars in technology to create better innovative products in more sizes and shapes making Italy the second largest exporter of tiles after China.
Now to the best part… (not that all of this was not exciting already), Cofundustria de Ceramica, offered us a generous authentic Italian buffet hosted in what used to be the horse stables for the castle. Not too shabby for a horse stable.
DKOR Interiors is proud to be a part of these efforts to create more awareness of Italian manufacturing. We feel responsible to share with our fellow industry companions and DKOR followers that making a conscience decision to purchase Italian ceramics not only provides you with in most cases a better product than that you can find in China, but also preserves a culture of artisans and family industries that have existed for decades if not centuries.
Thank you for joining us for 2015 Cersaie and we hope you’re enjoying your trip to Italy! We have one more post for you to wrap up the event our trip. Stay tuned – We promise to get it out to by the end of the week.
