In the heart of Hollywood, Florida, this design project revolves around transforming an outdated home into a luxurious, contemporary gathering space. Today, we are thrilled to reveal the results of the dining room makeover, which will serve as a central hub of the home for our clients.

With an open-plan layout seamlessly connecting the kitchen and adjacent dining and living areas, this special space offers both easy functionality and timeless elegance.

In this dining room, we focused on a dark gray color palette complemented by white marble and sparkling gold accents. Leaning into our clients’ passion for art, we incorporated a whimsical painting behind their dining table as well as a dazzling chandelier above the table. It’s casual dining, elevated.

DINING ROOM MAKEOVER – BEFORE

We took this photo before our dining room furniture makeover. The space had a strong coastal theme, which lacks the sleekness that our clients wanted. It’s time for a much-needed refresh!

Here you can see how the dining and living areas are separated by rugs and furniture. While this strategy works in some spaces, it creates a sense of crowding here and makes the room feel cluttered. We knew that we would need to take away all of this. It was necessary in order to have a more open, airy, and luxurious room.

DINING TRANSFORMATION – THE AFTER

Drum roll please… we’re thrilled to share the finished results of our vision! We’ve combined hard and soft materials, maximized airflow, and brought in pops of color and metallics to give this dining room its fashion-forward presence.

Through the netting of this ethereal chandelier, the figure in the painting stands tall. We love the idea of these two extraordinary accent pieces working together in harmony to create an enchanting ambiance.

By carefully selecting each design element, we have made the space feel really magical. It’s the smallest details, like the shiny gold bowl at the center of the table that bring everything together.

We chose this stunning marble table and plush gray velvet chairs because they are luxurious and space-saving. The circular design of the table takes up less room than a rectangular table. It can still accommodate five people for a more intimate dining experience.

From this view, you can admire the seamless flow between the dining area and kitchen. The gray chairs echo the kitchen cabinetry, while the marble table matches the sleek countertops. Natural light fills the room, accentuated by the chandelier and overhead lights.
