Creative Home Office With a Tropical Vibe
In one of our recently completed projects, we got to instill a tropical vibe into a 5,200-square-foot Fort Lauderdale residence for a young family. The couple, who just welcomed their first child, has a chic sense of style and wanted a space full of curated furniture and decor that really let their personality shine through. For that reason, one of the most exciting aspects of this project was creating a fun and creative home office for the wife, a jewelry designer.
Our goal was to create the perfect home office environment for her, a creative, meeting her workspace needs while at the same time creating an inspiring and chic space that matches her style.

The results of this creative home office design are cozy, versatile, and most importantly, totally stylish!
First off, the client loves the color coral, so we integrated it into the design with accent paint. To warm up the space even further, we added a textured beige area rug to the floor.
The desk — a compact, minimalist option — is her designated spot to work, so we decided to place it against the window so it receives the maximum amount of natural light. We know how important natural lighting is to improve productivity and mood! The closet stores all the tools she needs so this space can remain uncluttered when she’s not working.
Beyond storage solutions, comfortable seating is also key in home office design. Here, our DKORistas chose a beautiful gray woven option — not your typical leather swivel chair — to complete the desk area look.
These clients love to entertain their family and friends, so this creative home office does double duty as a guest room as well. A stunning daybed gives off a tropical vibe while being right at place in the room’s design. Thoughtful accents, like the greenery hanging in chic black pots above the daybed, push home the design concept even more.
The focal point in the room, we think, is the customized shelving unit that’s a feast for the eyes! From artwork to decor to family photos, the client can just look over to be inspired while she’s working. Our DKORistas added the textured panels on the back of the unit to introduce some texture and we love how it turned out.
Stay tuned to see the reveals for the rest of the rooms in this Fort Lauderdale Home!
