Art is found everywhere in Miami this week as Art Basel arrives into town! Each December Floridians get into the art spirit with one of the biggest celebrations of art and design, the Art Basel Miami Beach art fair.

Art Basel Miami Beach Art Fair brings hundreds of international visitors and offers an endless variety of collections, galleries, and exhibitions.   This is a wildly exciting, multicultural, creative community during Miami’s most active art season.

Residential interior design team, DKOR Interiors knows that art work is so important to interior design.  We are familiar with knowing how to work existing art collections into the design, or how to select the right ones for our client’s collection.  We are busy this week with our clients visiting the galleries and events and so excited to see the art of local and international artists.

Art work can enrich a gorgeous interior space and be very special to our art enthusiast clients.   Our design teams find stunning ways to display and integrate unique art collections into our client’s interiors.  Here are some of our tips to consider when incorporating art into your home interiors:

1. Bring a touch of uniqueness to your home

Select pieces that add visual interest or create a distinctive statement in the room. The more unique to you the more your interiors will reflect your style.

2. Complement the color palette

The colors in any painting, sculpture, or photograph can subtly compliment or add a pop of color. The color or hues can almost instantly liven up your space.

3. Place art front and center

Placing a large canvas or stunning sculpture in a visible area allows the artwork to complete the space and give it the area it needs to be displayed. Let it highlight an otherwise blank wall or fill an empty space in a room.

4. Place art front and center

When you are out in Art Basel, get to know the artists. Even if you don’t find a piece at the exhibit you love, following those artists that speak the most to you and your style is the best way to build a collection.
