Last week during the Art Basel 2015 festivities we enjoyed one of Wynwood’s Art Basel events focusing in on a collaboration of designers and artists in the interior design industry. Casa Wynwood is a fantastic space that promotes innovation. From outside it appears a simple warehouse located in the heart of Wynwood Art District yet on the inside it was designed like an Elle Decor eclectic dream. As Florida Interior Designers, when we step into a space our eyes are consistently traveling all throughout the space and focusing in on the details. With the spirit of Art Basel, this space featured an eclectic mix of ethnic wallcoverings, pop art, gold accents, plush fabrics, ornate light fixtures, and so much more. This creative “living laboratory” was designed by Erinn Valencich (aka. Erinn V.) and landscape architect David Font. Also local Miami artist B.Pila and the Italian Snaidero kitchens collaborated in this luxury lifestyle collaboration space.
Each space was dressed with elegant sheer drapes from The Shade Store at the DCOTA. Thank you to Carolyn at The Shade Store for the introduction to Erinn V. What a blast we had chatting about the concepts for the space!
Putting a face to the name! We chatted with the amazing italian art designer, Alex Turco and his family. Below is a photo of Ivonne, Alex, and his father. Here’s a fun fact for all your DKORistas who love the Miami Modern Powder Room. Alex Turco’s father took the photo of the agate over 20 years ago. Alex Turco’s father was an excellent painter before becoming a graphic designer and then an excellent photographer. We of course enjoyed meeting the photographer who is influential to one of our most proud powder rooms. It’s amazing to see how they share their passion!
DKORistas living in Miami, don’t miss the opportunity to visit this awesome indoor space with an outdoor garden, galley and a live art demonstration area.
Art Basel 2015 was an amazing opportunity for our Florida Interior Designers to get inspired, share and enjoy good times with very creative professionals and to see incredible art. We can’t wait for next year!
