2023 Furniture Trends from Salone del Mobile to Watch

Our Miami design team was fortunate to be able to attend Salone del Mobile again this year. Our DKORistas took full advantage of being there, exploring the biggest furniture fair in Milan in their search for the latest in 2023 furniture trends to bring home to our clients.

One thing we love about attending these important interior design events is that they keep us up to date on the latest trends, which we can then incorporate into our interior design projects.

We learn so much from seeing how products are constantly being reimagined, resulting in the latest furniture pieces that are both fabulous and functional. We draw inspiration from these trends, adapting them to our design schemes to create something unique for each of our clients.

2023 FURNITURE TRENDS

When attending the Salone de Mobile fair each year, we are always amazed by the unlimited creativity of our favorite brands as they push boundaries and experiment with new colors, textures and materials.

This year, we saw new styles, color palettes, textures and material being used in furniture and lighting fixtures. All the many different types of products seemed to complement one-another, making obvious the connection between lighting and furniture design.

In this blog post, we share with you the 2023 furniture trends that stood out in the booths we visited at Salone del Mobile. We can’t wait to bring these to the homes we are designing in Florida and abroad!

Color Trends

Last year, the key player in the color trend was green. But as much as we love green, we were curious to see what colors were hot this year. Here is what we discovered:

Black furniture with burnt orange and burgundy accent colors represented one of the new color trends in interior design. We loved this new color combination because it makes an impactful but elegant statement. Even though the dark colors in the furniture pieces are bold, they are softened by soft panna tones and oak woods to make any space feel cozy.

Here is an example of how furniture brands incorporated furniture trends 2023 into their newest collections.

Textured Glass on Furniture

Another furniture trend that we made note of and that is completely new to us is the use of textured glass in furniture design. We are used to seeing smoke- or bronze-toned glass, but at Salone del Mobile we noticed textured glass incorporated into main furniture pieces such as coffee tables, dining tables and consoles.

The texture in the colored glass gives another dimension to a living or dining room, while being more visible and provides providing a unique layer. We fell in love with this trend as soon as we saw it. Take a look at these examples and you’ll see what we mean!

Fabrics with Texture: Boucle and Corduroy

This is a trend that has been around for a couple of years. Boucle is a very beautiful and elegant yet comfortable fabric to select for any room in the house. We’re seeing more and more of it not only in the white shades, but also in green, orange, natural and even black.

This year at Salone del Mobile, we saw brands that combined boucle and corduroy fabrics in one furniture piece, using texture on texture instead of tone on tone to make a statement. This is a trend we are sure to use for our interior design clients to elevate their home design.

Organic Shapes in Furniture

Last but not least, the most important trend: organic-shaped furniture. The days of square edges are over. The look of rounded corners, unique shapes, curved elements and combination of natural materials in furniture is everywhere. It makes ones home feel more inviting and relaxing. We particularly liked the unique styles of the Enne showroom, where each piece was unique and different.

Salone del Mobile sets the trends in the interior design world, as we saw in all the innovations presented at the show. We are sure that we will start seeing these 2023 furniture trends everywhere! And we love that idea! We can’t wait to find out how they are creatively incorporated.
