Looking to get the look in your home? We sat down with DKOR Designer, Jackie DiCiacco for her top picks on the 2017 Design Trends and how to use them in your home.
HOW TO GET THE STYLE
When it comes to interiors and accessories I love classic design but swoon over the trendy stuff just as much! Right now I can not get enough of overflowing greenery in cool containers, cool swing arm wall sconces, or entertaining pieces that do double duty as complimentary design accessories.
Decorate with Greenery
This year greenery is in! Decorating with greenery makes a room feel lived in and loved. Bring life to your interiors with some trendy green guys in cool containers. I love the Dwell Studio faceted Vase containers that pair well with a drapery String of Pearls Plant or Fern Leaf Cactus shown below. Place this container on the edge of a shelf and allow the plant to drape down.
Have a larger corner space? The modern chic Iris Planter from West Elm is perfect for an entry or living room. These types of planters look great with a tidy indoor plant. Want tips on which plants to pair with your planters? Stay tuned to DKOR Living Blog! A “Decorating with Greenery” post is coming soon!

Add a swing arm wall sconce
This is one of the 2017 Design Trends that has been emerging for a while but now I see it everywhere and that makes me happy! An oversized swing arm is not only functional it adds a flair to a space and gives instant volume to a flat wall. I am obsessing with the trendy brass Cypress Double Swing Arm Sconce from Rejuvenation. The industrial chic Mantis Wall Sconce from CB2 is also a favorite find to get the look!
Use entertaining pieces as decorative accessories
Interior style comes from the accessories that give your space flair and personality! I love ceramic or porcelain bowls and platters. These knockout green handmade ceramic bowls from MonaLisa Pottery are the perfect objects for loose keys on a dresser when not serving appetizers. I also love platters that act as trays on a dresser with an elegant candle and loose jewelry. The burlap gold and White from Suite One Studio is even perfect if left on display on a table when not in use.
