South Florida interior design team and luxury yacht builders, Astondoa created luxury interiors for an International Couple

The special issue, just in time for the 2016 Miami International Boat Show, highlights the interior design tailored to the international couple with a keen eye for style and understanding of luxury hotel accommodations.

DKOR’s contemporary waterfront interior design project in Fort Lauderdale, Florida was recently featured in the 75^th special issue of Invictus Magazine, an exclusive luxury lifestyle publication. The special issue, just in time for the 2016 Miami International Boat Show, highlights the interior design tailored to the international couple with a keen eye for style and understanding of luxury hotel accommodations.

The challenges we faced as a design team when developing the waterfront residence interior spaces required us to decode our clients’ needs and preferences into the stunning spaces revealed in the Invictus feature article. The author, Marilyn DeMartini disclosed how the design style was adapted to 80’ Astondoa GLX to make both spaces feels like one continued home.

The couple worked together with G Marine and Astondoa to embellish their 80’ Astondoa GLX new luxury yacht while simultaneously building their waterfront luxury home with Bomar Builders and DKOR Interiors. Having the two projects concurrently, may have presented some challenges but with the design expertise of all the teams involved the stunning details and similarities provided a seamless blend of interior spaces from home to yacht.

Marilyn DeMartini, author of the article “Astondoa 80 GLX”, explain: “DKOR Interiors and Bomar Builders were on the home front, and G Marine and the Spanish shipyard, Astondoa, were on the portside. Working together, they accomplished two builds over two years with one theme and design package, creating a modern, clean and top quality new home duo—one in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and one bound for the sea.”

The modern design developed by our South Florida interior design team was inspiration that provided direction to the designers in Spain developing the yachts interiors. Natural materials and contemporary furnishings mixed with acute details resulted in the tailored interior design. Get to know more about the concept behind this residence HERE.

“They are a very refreshing and ‘hip’ couple,” says Ivonne Ronderos who headed the design team, “They were very clear in what they liked and that was not a typical South Florida or Mediterranean home. Many clients want ‘safe’ but the Carters were open to more ‘edgy’ looks.”

DKOR Interiors feels that it is important to achieve a feeling of consistency within all the interiors of the dream homes we design. This consistency is achieved with the application of our design concept to every space within a residence and ensuring our efforts with the talented teams we work with.

DeMartini explained on the article how teams worked together: “The yacht mirrors the design elements of their home as DKOR Interiors sent renderings of each room to Spain where the designers and project coordinator translated them to the yacht.”
