Drawing inspiration from the ethereal nature of clouds, our latest interior design renovation in Florida is a vision of heavenly beauty. Continue reading to see this dining room before and after, where we turned a space filled with dark furniture into a light-filled oasis for our clients.

In this dining room makeover, we chose furniture with rounded edges, uplifting artwork and light cream draperies to create a heavenly room for drinks and dinner.

To achieve a space that feels both celestial and also grounded, we installed floating light fixtures that contrast beautifully with the mid-century modern furniture. What was once a heavy and outdated room is now a relaxing sight for our clients and their guests.

DINING ROOM BEFORE AND AFTER

Before this dining room interior design transformation, the room had an outdated style with ornate wooden furniture and dark, heavy draperies. While the decor needed an update, the room has an excellent foundation with a unique octagonal tray ceiling and three grand windows.

We wanted to highlight this as a way of contributing to the room’s natural light and making it easier to see the views outside.

DINING ROOM MAKEOVER – FINAL RESULT

Voila! We’re proud to share the results of this stylish redesign. To achieve this cloud-like haven, we used both contemporary and traditional design elements to create an overall airy ambiance.

Even heavy materials, like marble are made to seem light and floaty because of the way they are used. The curved edges make the table seem soft, rather than imposing and heavy.

You’ll find many curved and rounded objects adorning the space. This curated selection of elements brings a fluffy, cloud-like feel to the room. From the funky geometric glass lights to the sculptural bowls, the room is filled with heavenly details.

In our pursuit of both playfulness and sophistication, we chose a contemporary painting of a swimmer in a pool to be the main artwork for the room. This charming work embodies the lighthearted spirit of the dining area.

For the upholstery, we selected this delicious berry fabric. It not only adds a splash of color but also adds a sense of warmth and richness to the space. The texture adds dimension, creating a nice contrast to the sleekness of the marble dining table and the glass light fixtures.

Our goal was to bring a sense of pure delight to the space, and these hanging pendant lights do just that! They have an almost weightless and enchanting effect. The colors of the lights also coordinate with the painting. Additionally, the ripples in the marble echo the ripples of the pool, tying the room together.

Perfect for hosting gatherings, big or small, this dining room is a beautiful realization of our clients’ desire for a serene, cloud-like gathering space.
