Here is some insight from one of our very own interior designers Marcy Garcia!

I found myself thinking about what inspires each of us, here at Dkor Interiors, to create a very unique and special environment for each of our clients. As designers, we struggle every day to find inspiration everywhere, everytime. THAT great idea is a collection of  being at the right place at the right time with the right frame of mind; the nook and cranny of everyday life.

I can tell you all about things, places, people that inspire me, and the list can go on and on, but what I am fascinated by right now, is not the inspiration per se. Ideas are almost nothing unless you can bring them to fruition, manifest them and make them tangible.

As Thomas Edison once said “genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration” That 99%, the perspiration  is the effort to bring all this incredible and creative ideas out to fruition, the hard work, the coordination, the sweat. All  of us have great ideas to make our work more creative and innovative, but those ideas mean nothing without the process that help us transform that vision into reality Creativity plus hard work equals the impact that we make with our ideas and the difference that the people around us can feel with the result of our job. So yeah, I agree that genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. We are definitely geniuses!
